It is my joy to deliver this newsletter on the recent ministry of a Team that went to Trinidad. As usual they had a great time and were able to help continue in the foundational work of Grace Church, Cunupia. These teams are a blessing to the people of Grace Church and the team always receives a special blessing as well.
For His Kingdom,
Dr. Chuck Davis

The women of Grace Church, Cunupia, Trinidad had a wonderful retreat on the north shore of Trinidad. As you can see from the photos it was a beautiful setting. The women of the GO2Trinidad Team enjoyed spending three days with the Grace Church ladies in ministry and fellowship, fun, games, crafts, food and relaxation around the pool and overlooking the ocean. It was a great time of spiritual and physical renewal for the ladies and a great time of renewing friendships and meeting new friends. The men enjoyed dinner with the ladies at the retreat on Monday evening.
The Retreat was just part of the Team activities during the week of October 22-29. Sunday morning and evening were spent in worship and ministry with the Grace Church family. Pastor Elysee Joseph, a Haitian Pastor from Ft. Lauderdale, shared the message on Sunday morning and it was a challenge to all. Chuck shared a presentation on the Caribbean Vision Ministries Haitian ministry on Sunday evening. Sunday afternoon included a trip to Mount Saint Benedict Church to oversee the Central Plains of Trinidad and be reminded of the great mission field in which Grace Church is located.

On Thursday morning the team visited the Temple by the Sea which is an important Trinidad tourist attraction. It is also a place that leaves Christians with a great spiritual challenge regarding our dedication to serving the Lord Jesus Christ. While at the temple we observed three Hindu funerals and the rite of cremation of the bodies all occurring at the same time. This was a highly unusual event for Trinidad. And in the afternoon the ladies on the Team visited in the homes of widows (not related to those at the funeral) and delivered them gift bags of personal items. Widow visitation is always one of the highlights of the trip for the women.

On Friday morning we traveled to the beach near Port of Spain for a baptismal service in the ocean and rejoiced as three people were baptized by Pastor Roger Dabideen. Even the rain couldn't dampen our spirits as we rejoiced with those following Jesus in His command of obedience to be baptized. And on Friday evening we enjoyed a special time of worship at Grace Church with the youth band, testimonies from the week, a message from Pastor Dabideen and a time of fellowship.

It was a joy to see what God is doing in Trinidad and how far the church has advanced since its birth five years ago. The church is currently seeking a piece of land on which to build a building so that the work of Christ can move forward. Their current rented facility is filled to capacity and they need more space but rental space is very expensive. Please pray for Grace Church and their need in this area. Pastor Roger Dabideen, his family and the Grace Church congregation are to be commended for their faithfulness in serving Jesus and their outreach into the surrounding Catholic, Hindu, and Muslim community.
